Chapter's Certification Program Managers and Staff Persevere

ACI certifications resumed on limited basis

Under differing State and local regulations enacted to control the spreading of Covid-19, the Chapter has worked diligently to resurrect its ACI certification program.  Policies for health screening, social distancing, additional PPE, and more stringent sanitation procedures have been developed to comply with multiple health orders.  Managers Tom Fourre and Kevin Owen, with the assistance of some of the Chapter’s Past Presidents, have found new sponsoring firms willing and able to host the revamped sessions, including Oldcastle Infrastructure (Pleasanton and Stockton), Construction Materials Engineering (Reno), Twining, Inc. (Sacramento), and Knife River Materials (Stockton).

Capacity has been reduced for each program due to social distancing requirements, and the Chapter is unable to offer as many programs in as many locations as it did prior to the shutdown in March.  However, much the Chapter’s backlog has been addressed, and the website is once again accepting new registrations for a limited catalog of certifications.

Currently available programs include Field Testing Technician – Grade 1, Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, and Masonry Laboratory Testing Technician.  Firms are encouraged to check the website often as changes occur frequently.
