The Al Kaufman Award presented to Kevin Owen
Kevin's contribution was essential in shaping and growing our Certification Program over the years. He was Certification Program Co-Manager and is now Remote Certification Program Manager.
The Al Kaufman Award was instituted in April 2015, in recognition of outstanding Chapter contributions by an individual member. This award is given out from time to time when it appears that an individual goes above and beyond in his or her contributions to the Chapter’s certification activities. Kevin is just the third receipient of the Al Kaufman Award.
The award is named after Alfred Leon Kaufman, Jr., who, in 1988, was the Chapter’s first co-chair of the then newly created Certification Committee. He has also served as the National Chairman of the Flatwork Finisher Certification Committee, promoting a pilot program locally before the program went national.
Recognition for Tom Fourre
Tom was Co-Manager of our Certification Program, and was dedicated to the students and certification sessions. He also acquired and maintained the equipment essential to consistent student training. In May, he passed away after a brief illness. We recognize Tom Fourre for the major contribution he made to Chapter Certification over the years.
