CalCIMA 2025 Education Conference

November 10-13, 2025 in Anaheim

CalCIMA is now accepting proposals for our 2025 Education Conference. While we encourage submissions that reflect our theme, The Magic of Materials, and our focus on resilient building with non-combustible and durable materials, we also welcome presentations on a broad range of topics. Papers are due by May 6, 2025.

The true Magic of Materialslies in their ability to transform our world, building stronger, safer, and more sustainable communities. As wildfires and other natural disasters continue to challenge California, the innovation behind non-combustible, durable, and sustainable materials is more critical than ever. By harnessing cutting-edge advancements, we can create a resilient infrastructure that not only withstands the elements but also supports a more sustainable future. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities and ensure that the foundations we build today stand strong for generations to come.

Below are some suggested topics to inspire your proposal. We welcome submissions on a variety of topics on environmental and land use policy or any other relevant subjects that align with our Magic of Materials theme and industry focus:

  • The Magic of Materials: Science & Innovation – Cutting-edge materials that are making construction more sustainable, durable, and adaptable to extreme weather and fire risks.
  • Fire-Resistant Innovations & Lessons from Wildfires – Advancements in non-combustible materials and lessons learned from recent wildfires to enhance fire-resilient infrastructure.
  • Sustainable & Circular Solutions in Construction – How sustainable materials, reuse, and recycling contribute to environmental responsibility and a circular economy in building practices.
  • Bridging Policy and Practice – How policymakers and industry leaders can collaborate to accelerate the adoption of sustainable, non-combustible materials.
  • Energy, Emissions & Safety – the role of non-combustible materials in reducing a building’s carbon footprint while enhancing safety and resilience.
  • Wildfire-Wise Communities & Real-World Applications – Case studies on how infrastructure and materials help communities prepare for and recover from wildfires.
