The April 13th Lunch & Learn was held at the Chapter Certification Center in Sacramento.

Emily Boirum, Manager of the Chapter Certification Center, welcomed attendees and shared the story behind the facility's development. She highlighted the center's unique status as a joint venture between the local NCA & WNV Chapter and ACI International, designed to expand access to a wide range of industry certifications and hands-on programs. Emily emphasized the flexibility of the center, which adapts its space and schedule based on industry needs, and the importance of certification for both quality assurance and career advancement in the concrete field. She discussed how ACI certifications have evolved in response to changes in building codes and industry requirements, offering programs for laboratory testing, inspection, and construction trades,  Audience members posed several excellent questions pertaining to offered certification programs, potential programs the Chapter could add, and proposed revisions to ACI 318’s 2025 edition.

The Chapter Certification Center serves as a hub for professional development, community engagement, and innovation, with the ability to adjust offerings and accommodate special requests. Emily encouraged attendees to explore the certification options, benefit from the supportive community, and participate in ongoing industry growth and education.
