Program:  Decarbonzing the West:  Leveraging Natural Pozzolans and EPDs for Sustainable Concrete 

This presentation provides a technical and environmental roadmap for integrating natural pozzolans into the Northern California and Western Nevada concrete markets. It addresses the "Perfect Storm" currently facing the Western U.S. construction industry: the simultaneous collapse of coal-based fly ash supplies and the rapid tightening of carbon-reduction mandates. This session equips attendees with the data needed to transition to ASTM C618 Class N materials while meeting rigorous sustainability standards.

David J. Imse, P.E. is a Technical Sales Engineer with Nevada Cement Company, bringing over 30 years of experience in the cement and concrete industry. He specializes in construction materials and provides leadership across sales, technical services, product development, and marketing. A graduate of Marquette University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, David is a Registered Professional Engineer and an active member of NSPE, ASTM, and ACI.
