
Mohammed Albahttiti

ACI member Mohammed Albahttiti is one of five California State University, Chico, CA, USA, faculty members receiving the university’s Professional Achievement Honors, which recognize exemplary teacher-scholar achievement on campus.
Since joining the university in 2017, Albahttiti has contributed to the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program by enhancing students’ academic experiences, driving interdisciplinary innovation, and securing grant funding that benefits the university, community, and industry. He has also led the development of precast concrete courses and helped establish the National Precast Concrete Association’s (NPCA) student competition. Albahttiti has co-authored nearly 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and reports and shares his expertise at academic conferences nationwide.
He has led CIM students in local service-learning projects, including building concrete Habitat for Humanity homes in Paradise, CA, and the Chico Islamic Center parking lot project, and has served as an advisor for the university’s Women in Concrete and ACI Student Chapter.
In 2023, Albahttiti received the Early Career Community Engagement Award from the Office of Civic Engagement. He received his MA and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA. Credit: California State University, Chico.
